Octavio Shaw is a musician, producer, and gear head whose love of music was forged during his rebellious teenage years at the turn of the millennium. Growing up in Mexico, he formed and led his own bands while obsessing over his electric guitar signal chain and self-devised recording setups, relying entirely on instinct to explore tone and capture music. These early experiments laid the foundation for the skills, curiosity, and determination that would define his life’s work.
 

Realizing his ambitions could only go so far in Mexico, Octavio moved to the United States. Freed from earlier limitations, he refined his approach to music creation and, alongside his lifelong partner Iliyalit, was inspired to turn his passions into a sustainable venture. By combining his creative mind with his background in business administration, he turned ideas that once felt like pipe dreams into achievable results.

As founder of Triforge Audio, Octavio guides the company’s vision and shapes every pedal, pickup, and piece of guitar gear. He rejects gimmicks and snake oil, focusing on intuitive, reliable designs that emphasize what truly matters to musicians. His pragmatic, laser-focused approach ensures every product delivers uncompromising quality, usability, and a deliberately crafted user experience.

Iliyalit goes by Ily, a nickname she uses because her full name is often mispronounced or misspelled. Sometimes it even becomes Lily, especially among English speakers. A devoted music lover, she has an instinctive ear, much like Rick Rubin, and immediately knows when something sounds right or wrong.

 

Ily’s curiosity spans formal studies in psychology, education, and cybersecurity, giving her a versatile perspective that informs both life and work. She approaches the uncertainties of life with courage and intensity, adapting quickly and efficiently while maintaining a practical, no-nonsense mindset.

As co-owner of Triforge Audio, Ily works alongside her husband, Octavio, completing the assembly of pedals and pickups and fulfilling customer orders. Her masterful soldering, meticulous attention to detail, and insistence on doing things right ensure every product is quality tested, presentable, and ready for musicians to enjoy for years to come.

Ilya is an accomplished technologist whose work sits at the intersection of technical precision and musical creativity. From an early age, he showed an innate talent as both a musician and a gear tinkerer, which, combined with formal studies and self-driven learning, laid the foundation for a career developing tools that resonate with musicians worldwide.

 

Based in Serbia, Ilya leads his own company, Tavysh Effects, where he developed the elusive HARM Guitar Pedal, a unique creation known for its unconventional tones and experimental circuitry. Beyond his own projects, he has quietly shaped the sound and performance of many products for small boutique builders and prominent companies through his inventiveness and musician’s sensibility.

 

Ilya made the Defender Series FX pedals a reality, our flagship launch product, and continues to shape the development of new Triforge Audio products as an integral member of the team. With his rare combination of electronics engineering and programming expertise, he continues to drive the innovation and quality that define our company.
